Conforme disse no post anterior, 2011 irá trazer algumas novidades ao Universo d’O Menino Triste.

Começo hoje por falar de uma delas: As versões digitais de algumas das histórias, para leitura em Tablets e afins. Para já, irão ser disponibilizadas as versões em francês e inglês. Datas de saída, detalhes técnicos, comercialização e outras informações serão dadas no decorrer do ano.

As I posted here, 2011 will bring some newbies to The Sad Boy’s Universe.

The digital versions of some of the stories, to be read on Tablets and similar devices, is one of them. First, the English and French versions will be issued. Technical, availability and other details will be given along the year.

2011 - 10 Anos de Menino Triste

Completam-se em 2011, dez anos da publicação do primeiro livro d'O Menino Triste. Na altura não tinha qualquer perspectiva de continuidade da personagem.

.

Os incentivos recebidos de amigos e simpatizantes fizeram com que a personagem evoluísse, novas narrativas aparecessem, sendo algumas nomeadas para vários prémios, e inclusivamente premiadas.

.

Este ano existem muitos planos entre exposições, novas histórias e muitas surpresas ao longo do ano.

.

Obrigado a todos aqueles que têm tornado possível esta Aventura.

Ten years since the publication of the first The Sad Boy's book have passed. All the support from our friends keeped me working on the character, with many reasons of joy througout these years.

.

During 2011 we'll have many events already programmed: exhibitions, new stories and many surprises...

A big hug to all those that supported us along all these years.

Manoel de Oliveira

Manoel de Oliveira completou no dia 11 de Dezembro 102 anos de vida!

.

A criatividade, perseverança e qualidade da sua obra inspiraram-me aquando da realização do álbum “A Essência”. De facto, quando O Menino Triste chega a Veneza, encontra um cineasta na Praça de São Marcos. Este cineasta é inspirado em Manoel de Oliveira e tem com O Menino Triste um diálogo adaptado da peça de Shakespeare – O Mercador de Veneza.

Faço votos para que possamos celebrar muitos mais aniversários e mais filmes do Mestre. Muitos Parabéns Manoel!

Manoel de Oliveira, portuguese film director, was 102 on the 11th of December!

.

His work’s creativity, perseverance and quality inspired me when I draw the book “A Essência”. In fact, when The Sad Boy arrives Venice he meets a film director in Saint Marcus Square. This director is inspired in Manoel de Oliveira, and the talk they have is based on Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice”.

.

I hope we can continue to celebrate Manoel’s birthdays for long time, along with his films. Happy Birthday Manoel!

Grande ambiente, uma inauguração impecável, um data de malta amiga e outra que fiquei agora a conhecer, é o balanço positivo que posso fazer da exposição O Traço do Camaleão.

Mostro-vos aqui o ex-libris que produzi especialmente para a ocasião, referenciando o Barreiro industrial. Foram editados dez exemplares (uma edição Qual Albatroz).

Great ambience, great vernissage, lots of friends and new friends, is what I can say about the opening day of The Chameleon's Sketch exhibition.

Here you can see the ex-libris I made exclusivelly for the ocasion, focusing the industrial aspect of the city (Barreiro).

O Traço do Camaleão

.

O Traço do Camaleão - assim se intitula a exposição de originais de Banda Desenhada, Ilustração e Pintura, que realizei nos últimos 10 anos.

.

A inauguração está marcada para o dia 8 de Dezembro, às 16h00, e estará patente no Auditório Municipal Augusto Cabrita, no Barreiro, e poderá ser visitada até Janeiro.

.

São todos bem-vindos.

The Chameleon's Sketch - my new Comics, Ilustration and Painting exhibition, with works perfomed within the last 10 years.

The great opening will be on the 8th December, and the venue: Augusto Cabrita City Council Theater, in Barreiro (in the Tagus' rive gauche). Everybody's wellcome.

100 Club. Esse mítico local, na Oxford Street em Londres, onde O Menino Triste se estreou na cena musical punk. Aqui a tocar na longínqua 2ª feira 20 de Setembro de 1976: o primeiro Festival Punk em Londres.

Soo Catwoman

Exacto: Soo Catwoman!

No meu diccionário, onde está a palavra "Punk", à frente está a imagem de Soo Catwoman. Soo foi (e continua a ser), a imagem do Punk, em toda a sua autenticidade. Muitas vezes esquecida, ela teve um papel preponderante nos bastidores, apresentando algumas pessoas a outras e com isso, introduzi-las na "cena".

.

O que gosto na Soo são as suas Autenticidade e Originalidade que a tornaram num grande ícone à escala global. As suas roupas eram por ela feitas, e ainda hoje se mantêm uma referência. A presente imagem é uma vinheta do Punk Redux, onde Soo aparece com uma amiga.

Yes, that's her: Soo Catwoman!

.

On my own diccionary, next to the word "Punk" there is a Soo Catwoman image. Soo was (and still is) the image of Punk, in all its authenticity. Very often forgotten, she had a main role on the "back stage", introducing some people to one another, bringing them into the "scene".

.

What I like most in Soo are her both Autenticity and Originality, that make her a great global icon. Her clothes, made by herself, are still a reference nowadays. What I show here is a picture from the Punk Redux book, where Soo is with a friend.
